'~IT'YCl_FRI'<c?rFI~ Tp: Mayor lleWeerd and Meridian City Council Members DATG: April 6, 2004 R.F: Saguaro Canyon Subdivision Dear Mayor and Council, In the past few weeks we have had two neighborhood nteatings with the landowners located within s00'ofthe proposed Saguaro Canyon Subdivision. The topic of discussion at the meetings ranged from compliance with the Comprehensive Plan to what Type of ferx:ing would be appropriate arotmd the perimeter of the subdivision and everything in between. Although no written agreement was trade wilt the neighbors, it bec~;tnz appazerrt at the meetings that the neighbors felt that the lots ad}'aeeltt to the perimeter of the subdivision should be made bigger to reduce the impact on the existing home sites. To acconunodate this request 8 additional lots were removed from the perimeter of the subdivision, and that land was spread out among the remaining lots to increase the-size of the remaining lots. 'fhe average lo[ size on the perimeter of the subdivision on the east, and north {including northwest) boundaries are now several thousand square feet bigger (12,000+ square feet) than the minimum lot size for the R-4 zone (8,000square feet), Apprupriate fencing for the subdivision was almost agreed to (one neighbor objected), and that was for a vinyl fence (5' fall with 1' of lattice} to be consnveted along the east, attd north progeny line. A stone Fence adjacent to the Priddy's and Adkins's properties on the west side ul'the subdivision near the northwest corner of the subdivision. We i'cel that the fenoing, as outlined above, will provide for au attractive border and efficti~e buffer between the existing and proposed subdivisions.
