HomeMy WebLinkAboutPublic Testimony by Brad Beckley 2/13Dear Commissioners, My Name is Brad Beckley, I reside at 3655 S. Merrivale Way Meridian, ID. I'm located in the Kingsbridge Subdivision. I'm writing you in regards to the project Accomodations Subdivison located on Falcon Drive. It's being proposed by Mr. Evans. My concern is the building height and density for the area. The subdivision directly to the South is 1 acre single family homes. Kingsbridge is R2 zoning with V2 to 1 acre lots on the perimeter to transition. The property to the East of this is a rural 5 acre lot. When Kingsbridge was developed the developer was required to have minimum 18,000 sq ft homesites with height restrictions of no more than 30' and absolutely no two stories or bonus rooms allowed for the entire development surrounding the 1 acre Dartmoor subdivision. This was very good planning by the City and makes for a nice transition. The proposed development you have in front of you does not conform with the surrounding property. Their has been a precedence set with Kingsbridge in the recent phases with transition in regards to the rural nature this area has. 1 hope you take this into consideration when approving this, I think Mr. Evans should held to the same standards. The exterior lots on the East and South of this project should not be allowed to be two story. Highlights: • Lot sizes should transition. Yz acre minimum standard has been set surround Dartmoor subdivision and rural property. • Single level homes on perimeter of property • Mr. Evans density is too high, once he transitions from the S and E of property with larger lots his density will be more in line with a R-4 density. Thank you for your time, you've all done a very nice job of making Meridian a destination and a wonderful community.
