BARGAINING AGREEMENT APPENDIX A TO CORRECT THE PROMOTION PAY
FOR THE GRANDFATHERED POSITIONS IN THE CURRENT AGREEMENT
This Memorandum of Understanding is entered into this C90 day of
?.03-2t,, by and between IAFF Local 4627 ("UNION") and the City of
Meridian
WHEREAS, the UNION and the CITY are parties to a Collective Labor
Agreement effective October 1, 2014 - September 30, 2016 ("CLA") covering various
terms and conditions of employment of the Firefighter employees of the CITY; and
WHEREAS, the parties agree that Appendix A reads in part:
Promotions shall take effect on the next pay period following the completion of the
time of service
Employees of the Meridian Fire Department as of September 30, 2014 shall be grandfathered
under the previous pay system time periods as listed below:
(Intro/Prob-6 months from date of hire; FFI -1 year from date of hire; FFII-2 years from
date of hire; FFIII-3 years from date of hire)
WHEREAS, the parties agree that the language should read:
The progression from Intro/Prob Firefighter through FFIII shall occur on the following
timeline:
Intro/Prob- at date of hire to six months
FFI - at six months from date of hire
FFII- at 1 year and 6 months from date of hire
FFIII- at 2 years and 6 months from date of hire
THEREFORE, the parties agree to maintain this MOU as active until
September 30, 2016 at that time it may be incorporated into the Collective Labor
Agreement if still applicable.
