TASK ORDER NO. 10221
Between
CITY OF MERIDIAN
AND
DC Engineering
This Task Order is issued by City and accepted by the Engineer pursuant to the mutual promises,
covenant and conditions contained in the Master Agreement between the above mentioned parties
dated January 1, 2007.
Coordination Study/Arc Flash Analysis for the Meridian WWTPT Task Order
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Project Understanding
We understand that the City of Meridian is requesting information regarding Arc Flash information
to support the electrical safety plan being developed by DC Engineering. To be able to provide Arc
Flash Analysis and label all equipment with an Arc Flash label with accurate energy levels a
coordination study will need to be completed. The scope will include the Main site located at Ten
Mile road and 14 lift station sites.
Services Provided
• Use S.K.M. software to complete time current coordination, short circuit fault analysis study,
and arc fault analysis study
• Perform a coordination study to define ratings and settings for short circuit, overload, and
ground fault protective devices
• Prepare and submit resultant data and curves. Included are protective devices from utility
service to and including secondary devices of medium and low voltage transformers,
feeders to motors with an overcurrent device over 100 amps, motor control centers, and
branch panels. Also included are the recommended settings for each adjustable protective
device.
• Perform a short circuit fault analysis to calculate 3-phase bolted faults.
• The short circuit analysis will indicate root mean square current values for each bus and
each short circuit protective device being supplied from the service entrance to the lowest
rated overcurrent devices of 100 amperes.
Perform are flash analysis and create associated signage to be placed on the electrical
equipment.
• Coordinate all settings and recommendations with the owner.
Deliverables
• Time current coordination curves for all overcurrent devices included in the study.
• Schedule of recommended protective device settings.
• Short circuit analysis results.
• List recommended changes in fuse sizes and types, per time current coordination study, if
applicable.
• Appropriate signage for arc flash results.
Assumptions
While preparing our scope of services and fee estimate, we have made the following assumptions:
• An estimated list of all feeder conductors estimated to within a 15 -foot variance will be
developed.
• The size and type of feeder conductors and conduit types will be estimated.
• The overcurrent protection device information will be verified by site investigation to
accurately obtain actual catalog numbers, available trip settings, etc.
• Transformer information will be verified as to type, power ratings, and impedance.
• The available fault current at the utility connection point will be coordinated with IPCO.
• Site visits will be necessary for all sites to be included in the study. It is anticipated that a
City Employee can escort to all sites for equipment verification.
• Record documents for all wells, lift stations, and site in general will be helpful. Dc
Engineering has many of these already but other will be requested for use in the study.
TIME OF PERFORMANCE
• DC Engineering has a capable staff and can start on the coordination study immediately.
COMPENSATION
The project will be performed on time and material basis not to exceed $12,040 (Twelve Thousand
Forty Dollars) broken down as follows:
Main Site $7,000
14 Lift Stations $5,040
