This is your chance to be responsible. I am adamantly opposed to rezoning a parcel, referenced in public hearing H-2019-0068, at McMillan and Goddard Creek, to allow for 40 townhomes. As a resident of the neighborhood near this development, I have strong concerns about the population density such a project would create. The concerns I have are as follows. Two surrounding elementary schools are already overcrowded. My children have attended both schools, and recently my daughters 4th grade class had over 30 students with one teacher. The sidewalk around the circumference of the neighborhood is not completed (After 15 years of existence), requiring you to cross a busy road or walk through undeveloped land to access neighborhood businesses. There are exposed irrigation ditches along the walking routes to the neighborhood school from this parcel, with no crosswalks. Three of the four sides of the neighborhood have roads that are only two 2 lanes. There is already a large apartment complex in this area. It does not need and cannot handle another complex of many homes. Adding this townhome complex would not be responsible and would not be good for this area. Please do not change the current zoning to allow for townhome construction and make the responsible choice. Thank you for your time and consideration. Chris Zimmer Meridian Resident
