Dear Meridian City Clerk
ATTN: City council and Planning and zoning committee :
In regards to Applications by DL Evans for construction of ap artment complex at Movado Way and
Overland. Applications 99 and 104
I have reviewed and want to express my continued extreme displeasure with the revised
development plan. I have expressed my discontent via letter prior and at public meetings. I even
spoke with Dale Evans following a public meeting and had the impression he would be “dropping
the job” due to the discontent of the local development residents stating “this is just another job. I
care about what the people think”. Well apparently he doesn’t a s this revised plan does not address
the concerns expressed by the local residents.
I am very worried about the impact this large apartment complex will have on my home value, and
the disturbances it will create in trying to access and leave my developmen t. I was sold my property
based on the original plan to provide commercial space. I expected to have some nice commercial
development within walking distance to my home that would provide local shopping specialty
shops, coffee shops, and or nice eateries. This would certainly enhance my home value, lifestyle,
and happiness with my residency choice of living in Meridian. I did not buy my home anticipating
the development of a huge apartment complex (that has nearly doubled in size , by the way) that
would tower over my development and cause severe parking and traffic congestion issue s, not to
mention increased foot traf fic on the main, and only entry/exit directly into the Movado
development. I would anticipate the traffic would increase 2 -3 fold, especially i n the common
commuting times of day . This is an unacceptabl e expectation by the developer of our community
and development.

I further want to express my discontent with the “traffic impact study” that was done by them. A
one day study without regard to further impacts their apartment s and the already approved and
projected growth of the development , seems half -hearted and hardly in support of the community.
Rather the bottom line of the developer seems the more important concern, by trying to get out of
the cost of providing traffic light access to and from the development. As he told me at that
meeting “It’ll cost me $220,000”!
I am sorely disappointed with the false sense of “caring” Dale expressed to the residents at the
hearing as well as the revised plan proposal and w ant to stress that it should NOT be allowed to
move forward. I appeal to the council and planning and zoning committee members to truly
consider the impacts such a development would have on traffic, the schooling system, and the
overall quality of life of your already present and future Meridian City residents of the Movado
Development. Please do NOT allow this development to go forward as planned by the developers
out of California (per Dale Evans) and by the DL Evans Company to enhance their profit, rather be
considerate of your Meridian residents and our quality of life!
As I will be unable to attend the scheduled city council hearing on December 3, due to a previously
scheduled commitment; Please consider this letter my testimony of d isapproval of this project.
Sincerely,
Ginger Jensen
