Subject:Adera Storage CUP H-2019-0094
To the P& Z Commissioners,
Both my wife and I are residents of the Tumble Creek Subdivision located on the SW corner of Linder Rd and Ustick
Rd. Having lived there for the past 8 years, we have attended meetings scheduled with the City of Meridian regarding
the development of this specific portion of property.
The proposal/application for Adera Storage is what I believe is short-sighted and vague. This proposal does note the
construction of 300+ storage units in it's initial phase with townhomes to be build at a "future date" not specified. The
affected parcel of land is zoned Commercial and an earlier applicant attempted to get City approval for multi-family
apartments, which was denied by the City staff as not a proper fit for the zoning and surrounding residential
subdivisions. This proposal appears even worse in regards to a good fit for the parcel and surrounding neighborhoods -
storage units are not a necessary commercial fit; however, well-planned townhomes (dependent of density) with
commercial businesses are a good fit.
We are clearly against the approval for the placement of any storage units on this parcel of property and urge the City
staff to deny the request.
Thank you.
