Subject:Proposed build at Ustick/Linder
Dear City Council,
I have called Idaho home for 43 years and I am a 28 year resident of Meridian. I have owned a home in the
Vineyards at Cherry Ln and Linder for 17 years. I am against the approval of a permit that would allow an
apartment complex and storage facility to be built at Ustick and Linder.
While it is important to keep up with the demand of affordable housing, this location is not suited for this type
of build. It would be irresponsible to add housing to an already crowded section of our city. With the recent
new residential areas around the Linder/Ustick location we are already pushing the limits of capacity of the
schools that support these neighborhoods. In addition, it would create additional traffic issues in a area that
has limited options for expansion. Instead of putting additional strain on schools that do not have room to
expand in this area and roadways that are already congested, it would better serve the community to allow
someone with plans to build facilities that add value to the residents who live near this location . Office space
for physicians, dentis ts or a even a much needed daycare. In an area where open space has become a thing of
the past, let’s be smart and really think about the future of this part of Meridian. We don’t need more
apartments as we can find plenty a 1/2 mile up Ustick or another storage facility similar to the two found at
Ustick & Ten Mile; further driving business away from long time Meridian business, Acorn Storage, (Franklin rd
just East of Linder)
Please do not approve this build at Ustick and Linder!!!
