There are currently 4 other storage facilities within a 2 mile radius to this corner as well as one more in the process of being constructed off of McMillan between Ten Mile and Linder. I dont see any need for ANOTHER storage facility to bring blight to the city that was once beautiful but becoming like every other city in America - overcrowded with dense living on every street corner. Also, enough with the determination of the City Council to destroy what Meridian once was with the constant approval of MORE Apartments buildings. I am not sure why the council desire to have so many apartments in a city that is struggling to keep pace with road infrastructure and extrememly over-crowded schools. By adding MORE apartments in an area that is zoned for retail/commercial (based on the current comprehensive plan) you will further put stress on our roads and bring more traffic to a city that can't take much more. Also, our schools are so overcrowded, kids sit on the floors in classes yet you continue to approve housing that just adds more issues at the schools. I just dont understand the reasoning!! Please, Please, Please - stop approving housing, especially Apartments . And no more storage facilities - They are so unsightly and dont add anything to the city. Keep Meridian from becoming like every other city in America. Deny this application and return to what the original zoning of the property is for. Bring us some retail and restaurants where we can buy goods from small stores, support the small businesses and dine at a local eatery without having to drive miles and adding to the already congested streets.
