June 24, 2019 Meridian City Council, There are a few concerns that we have regarding the latest proposed plat for the Three Corners Ranch. Contrary to their verbal agreement at the last Meridian Planning and Zoning meeting, the developer has not moved the gate which accesses Dunwoody further east to allow side yard access to the properties north and south of the access road (1874 E and 1906 E. Dunwoody). 2. Contrary to the recommendation made at our last Meridian Planning and Zoning meeting, the developer has ignored the recommendation to have a third access point to the new development. This will needlessly increase traffic along Dunwoody, which incidentally is the only long-term road access that does not have sidewalk or curb and gutter. Dunwoody was built with a country road exemption and was literally not designed to be a collector road. This exemption allowed them to forego curb, gutter and sidewalk. By constricting access points to only two of five potential access points, residents will be forced onto these two roads instead of allowing access to the surrounding roads that have stubs to the property and which already have sidewalk and an inherent design to be collectors. We respectfully request that the council reject the proposed layout and insist that additional access points must be used to ease this burden in order to obtain approval. Dunwoody as a subdivision is willing to have increased traffic commiserate with our "fair share", but to force all of the burden onto Dunwoody and avoid other access points roads in spite of the development to only two, this will exacerbate the problem and further undermine safety on a road that was not designed to be a collector. Thank you for taking the time to consider our concerns, Brandon and Angela Wilding Residents of 1874 E. Dunwoody Ct.
