Subject: 3 Corners Ranch
1. The City of Meridian Staff report didn't even address the 3 schools adjacent to 3 Corners Subdivision.
There are 2 schools across the street on Locust Grove besides Ambrose. Staff report failed to list them as
school because they are charter and private schools. 90% of the children living in 3 Corners Subdivision
walk or ride their bikes to these schools and yet the staff recommends putting more vehicles that the
2
children have to worry about. It is the responsibility of this staff to put all our children first and keep
them safe and not add more vehicles.
2. At certain points of the day you can't get a right out of 3 Corners. The staff didn't even consider that
piece of this puzzle.
1. Do you support the plan approved by ACHD? Please refer to attached document for ACHD plan
and explanation. Yes, we support the ACHD approved plan.
2. Would you support an alternative plan that allows for Fuller Ranchettes and Three Corners
Ranch but not any other traffic from Bristol Heights, Vienna Woods, or Eagle Road? Yes, we
would support this alternative to the ACHD approved plan.
3. Would you support any plan that allows traffic to flow from Bristol Heights through Three
Corners Subdivision? No.
4. Would you support any plan that allows traffic to flow from Vienna Woods through Three
Corners Subdivision? No.
5. Would you support any plan that allows traffic to flow Eagle Road to Locust Grove Road via
Three Corners Subdivision? Absolutely not.
6. What is your biggest concern about increased traffic through the neighborhood? All of the issues
noted below are of concern to us, but our primary con cern is the cities apparent inability to
take into account the facts that the K-12 Ambrose school, which already has 500+ students
and staff, is expanding their campus at the primary choke point of the Three Corners
neighborhood and will have increased car and pedestrian foot traffic back and forth across
both campuses. The choke points at the entry/exit point of the Three Corners
neighborhood are more narrow than Dunwoody and already handle significantly more
traffic due to the school. Given Ambrose is K-12, a large number of driving age students
enter and exit by car throughout the day as well as park alongside the roads. Additionally,
during high traffic times (morning and evening commute times in the area), traffic from
Chinden already backs up well passed the entry/exit point to Three Corners and often
blocks access to and from our neighborhood as it is. Allowing additional through traffic
will exacerbate this significantly.
Thanks for listening,
Deb Lewis
