Tyler Moss (2)Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing regarding the Summertown Subdivision and want to express my disapproval of the proposed updated plan. Although the plan does reduce the number of units to 205, this is still a massive number of units for this area. The land that the apartments to the west are now located was originally zoned as residential and this land was zoned as mixed use. Now, as times have changed, the residential zoned land became apartments so there is already a higher density than was designated before. Adding this many units will result in extremely high-density area which brings a lot more traffic and noise than anticipated. It also can bring more crime with that high of density of units. I’m not sure why each of the two-story units along Venable Lane has limited parking which would force many of those residents to park along Venable Lane, and even into the Crossfield Subdivision west of the apartments, which poses a potential fire hazard and safety hazard for children. The one road access on Venable Lane for that many residents could pose a huge fire and safety hazard as well. The length of the apartments along the west side are way too long. This tends to look more like a lower income housing apartment complex. There is also a huge lack of transition from the surrounding existing homes. Directly to the west, there are only single-story homes. To the south, there are singe and two-story homes. There is no transition from these to the 3-story apartments planned. There is no privacy for those surrounding homes. I’m very concerned that there was talk in the beginning about the east-west street on the south side of the apartments were going to directly tie into the Crossfield neighborhood street Stanhope. Now, this street is pushed farther south which means noise and vehicle lights will go right into the backyard of those homes at the end of the street. This problem should have been fixed by now. Lastly, there is a huge lack of infrastructure that needs to be in place first before something of this size is put in place. There are already plans for 2 different apartments a half mile west off of Ustick and current ones being built a half mile east off Ustick. Our daughter is going to school 3 miles away because there is no room in the surrounding schools and there are currently no schools to be built in this area. There needs to be proper planning done before this and the many other apartments get built. I would like to be there to voice my opinion but have other obligations and can’t attend all of these meetings as they have gone on for a year. Please do not approve the Summertown Subdivision and thank you for your time. Tyler Moss 2946 NW 8th Ave
