Dear Karen,

Your email has been forwarded to our City Clerk and will be included in the public record. We'd encourage you to

Because i will be unable to attend the meeting on November 7 at 6pm with Meridian City Council(Due to a
previously scheduled foot surgury on that date), i am writing with GREAT CONCERN, about the possiblity of
the building of a 4 story, 40 foot tall apartment complex, totaling 272 units, on the south side of Ustick,
between Linder and Meridian. I do not agree with the logic of even considering this, due to many factors.
1. We already have over crowded grade schools and as far as I'm know, there's no plan in place to build
one in this proximity.
2. It would be much better to fill this location with houses not APARTMENTS. (For many obvious reasons
but just to list a few:
The sheer amount of houses fitting there as opposed to 272 apartments! Thus the possibility of a grander
number of children(overcrowding the schools in this area) and number of cars(causing an extensive
amount of traffic coming in and out of ONE tiny little "off" road on to Ustick! !)
3. The photos/details that have been shown of this proposed Apartment complex shocked me!(I was able
to attend one of the previous meetings) The Architectural design of it does not in any way coincide or
come close to fitting in with the houses(or apartments for that matter) to the ones in the surrounding area.
It would be an "eyesore" to look at and that's not even considering how tall they would be!) This
Apartment Design JUST DOESN'T FIT IN WITH THE SURROUNDING NEIGHBORHOODS!
We are TRUE IDAHOANS, and have ALSO lived HERE in the Boise/Merdian area since 1994. Please
hear our voices!! There are MANY "Transplants form other states(obviously a lot from California) that
came here to escape a lot of bad things. Many of them are speaking up(FROM EXPERIENCE) and
warning us, that many mistakes are happening here that that watched happen there. I really think we
should listen, and could actually learn from them, before we turn this city into one which has the same
kinds of problems that they came here to escape.
I know you all want the best for our city or you wouldn't be serving in this capacity, and for this i THANK
YOU! I do ask though for you to PLEASE PLEASE, listen to the people of Meridian whom you
serve... Sincerely Karen Beaudin
