Meridian is a great community because of its existing neighborhood feel and many parks. Since returning to Idaho, I have noticed a large increase in multiple family residences, largely apartment complexes. While there is certainly a need for additional options, we seem to be over -building in high concentrated areas that will continue to add to overcrowding in schools and increased traffic through side streets to avoid crammed arterials. It seems prudent to let the existing developments that are approved be completed and then assess whether more are needed (and where). Making changes in allowing more units in smaller footprints, seems unnecessary given available land yet developed. To keep Meridian as a desirable place to live and work, please do not enact the proposed zoning changes.
