I am not sure why the City or Planning Zoning Commision feels the need to continue to increase the amount of high density living available in this city. There is nothing wrong with growth in a city but only when the needed infrastructure (ie: roads, emergency services, etc) and SCHOOLS are ready for that growth. Our schools are completely overcrowded in every level and yet more and more residential continues to be approved. This code amendment would allow developers to squeeze in more high density units per lot and that is not something we need, EVER! Meridian used to be a nice place to live but lately all the road congestion due to 2 lane roads and a large increase in residential growth has made it begin to feel like every other overcrowded city in America. Stop changing codes, stop approving residential builds until the roads have been widened, schools have been built and appropriate needs of the community have been met. Also, our new Comprehensive Plan should dictate whether these code changes are appropriate for Meridian. The citizens should have a say in what is approved and what not. Please vote NO on this amendment.
