Here's what they had to say: Request for Mayor and Council Name Brady S Tucker _replyto bstuck@gmail.com Street Address 926 North Oxwich Avenue City Meridian State ID Zip Code 83642 Subject Traffic concerns for Black Cat Message Hi, I'm a resident in the Castlebrook subdivision off Pine Rd and have lived there for almost 5 years. We recently heard about the incoming charter school just to the south of us off Black Cat and I'm very concerned about the impact this will have to traffic flows especially in the morning and afternoon. We are already land- locked as it is with not many routing options into/out of our neighborhood and what concerns me most is that emergency 3 vehicle response time is going to be greatly affected by Compass coming in. When Compass Charter was discussed was emergency response time even studied and evaluated with rush hour traffic on Black Cat? Black Cat is currently a two-lane road at the intersection of Pine with an almost constant stream of traffic in the morning making left turns from Pine nearly impossible. The train tracks can also cause a log jam during rush hour. A great solution would be to open Pine Ave and finally make it go through from Ten Mile to Black Cat. This would be a huge relief to the Castlebrook and Chesterfield subdivisions allowing another option besides using Black Cat. I believe Pine expansion has been put off until development goes in but having the charter school built will increase local traffic and should warrant a revaluation. There poses a serious risk to our neighborhoods due to the increase traffic load. Pine has been planned to also have a bike path through that section, why not look at all options to fund this extension? I would appreciate a meeting with all the stake holders that are affected by this and to be able to discuss funding options and other possibilities to make this happen. Again, the greatest danger I foresee is a massive traffic issue which would slow emergency response vehicles. Let's make Pine finally connect 10 Mile and Black Cat to relieve congestion, improve emergency response time, and spur development along Ten Mile.
