Would love to meet. However, the Costco application is still open and anything I say needs
to be on the record. I appreciate you reaching out. Hope you're well. See you soon...

Treg,
Hope you are well sir! We met at my house and spoke for a while while doing some repairs
a while ago with my wife.
I’m preparing to speak at the meeting next week on Costco, but more importantly the
apartments. Are you free for a coffee Friday by chance?
Thanks,

Subject:Costco application
Hi,
I am unfortunately unable to make the meeting on July 24th because of a work conflict and wanted to share
my thoughts.
I love Meridian and thankful for all it has to offer first and foremost.
I am past the Costco discussion and trust your judgment for the best aesthetics and how to blend into the
community.
My larger concern, and always has been, is the high density housing and remaining empty space next to
Costco.
1. I ask first and foremost that the city council stay committed to just allowing Costco to occupy the corner.
Please please please do not lose your commitment to the community by allowing anything other than
medium density housing to occupy the other half of the empty lot. It has been a big enough issue for Costco
but anything other than housing would completely destroy our community through traffic, noise pollution
and safety concern.
2. I beg you to please be diligent in your high density housing review. There is nothing good outside of
affordable housing that comes from these buildings, I can send you research for days on crime and other
safety concerns. This is in our community and would pose great dangers to our children, drive down
property values and destroy the community we have created. Please keep the quality equivalent of or above
the level of BainBridge as a whole and do not allow anything less than that, while also limiting the amount
of units on the property.
3. This is a hope I have and would love to push to eliminate the inlet off of lost rapids. This will bring
nothing but traffic to BainBridge for those commuting back to Emmett area and increase safety concerns.
Please require trucks and other vehicles to enter off the main roads as they should be able to handle the
traffic, if not I question if it’s acceptable to build on a corner not able to handle it.
I say all of these things with the upmost respect. I am for growth, jobs and think we can come together to do
it the right way. Put the community it impacts the most first and then it will all work out.
Thanks

Subject:Costco Design
I wanted to file this and share with the city council. I’ll be sharing with Costco as well at our meeting.
Regarding the design, I really believe the building should not only blend into the community (Bainbridge) on
the outside but also the inside. I think it would be very strange if the building looks nice on the outside, then you
walk into a completely different style warehouse inside. I believe it should be a warm, almost grocery style
design inside to welcome the community and not feel like a box inside, I’m just thinking big.
I really think Whole Foods does a great job with a modern, clean and classy look with glass, wood and nothing
too flashy. This would also allow the building to blend into the trees with natural colors. I also think the outdoor
food area would be awesome if it had this wood design and wasn’t just red table and cinder blocks. I have
attached a few photos I found.
Let’s challenge Costco to think outside the box and try to win a design award for the building and be different
than anything they have ever done.
Thanks,
