Subject: Rezoning for The Keep subdivision
Good morning,
I currently live in the small house across the street from the LDS Church and the vacant property that are being rezoned
for The Keep subdivision (6740 S Eagle Rd, Meridian 83642). I’m unable to attend the public rezoning meeting tonight
due to a prior commitment but had some comments and questions regarding the construction of the new homes. I rent
my home and have not heard anything from my property manager so I’m guessing there is little impact to my property
with this rezoning but I have no doubt there will be a major impact to life in this area, both human and wild. I am sad to
know the open field across the street will no longer be open but understand the demand for expansion.
I’ve lived here for 2 years now and have already seen quite an increase in the traffic on Eagle Road during that time,
including lots of fully loaded tractor-trailers. I work from home and see more vehicles every day lined up at the
intersection of Lake Hazel and Eagle Rd. I understand ACHD is not requiring a traffic study for this project. I am
concerned that the increase in population will dramatically affect the amount of traffic and have the following
questions:
1. Where will construction vehicles enter/exit the property once the project begins?
2. When is construction scheduled to begin? What is the planned timeframe for completion?
3. Which section of the property will be developed first?
4. Does the City of Meridian have plans to widen Eagle Rd (south of Lake Hazel) or Lake Hazel Rd in the next 2-5
years?
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Respectfully,
2
