Subject: Summertime apartment complex and customer service
City Council,
You have heard many reasons why you should deny the application for the summertime apartments
on Ustick and Venable but for some reason you have once again given this developer the opportuni ty
to make adjustments that he has clearly stated would not benefit him financially to do what you have
asked him to do. Aside from that some of you want to throw around the term customer service as if
the many people who have spoken out against this project are not "customers" of the council. Just let
me remind you what customer service is and how it should be delivered.
Good customer service means helping customers efficiently, in a friendly and timely manner. It's
essential to be able to handle issues for customers and do your best to ensure they are satisfied.
Providing good service is one of the most important things that can set your business apart from the
others of its kind.
"No matter how skilled or good you are at your job, if you provide a service to customers (whatever
that service might be), be sure to remember that you need to also provide exceptional or first-rate
customer service, which includes providing timely responses to customer questions/inquiries and
keeping your clients informed. Failure to do so can result in lost business (or clients) or damage to
your reputation, or both".
I have provided the reference so that I accurately state where and who the information is from not to misquote or represent anyone.
Hawkins, D. I., & Mothersbaugh, D. L. (2010). Consumer behavior: Building marketing strategy (11th ed.). New York, NY: McGraw-Hill/Irwin.
I think it is clear that this location is not the right location for this complex and the council needs to
take a look at how much density they need in an area. The developer himself showed you a slide
showing the large number of apartment buildings in the area so why the need for more, it doesn't
make sense. It's time to put this to an end on November 7th and deny this application.
Have a wonderful day,
Amy Kernin-Laye
