Your decision is so very disappointing. With ample other commercial locations this appears to only be about the upfront loan for road improvements. For all of the citizens who reportedly have sought to have a Costco in Meridian, did one of them add, “Please put it in my backyard; have the trucks and shoppers cut through my neighborhood; have the bike lanes coincide with traffic flow so my children are at greater risk for an accident with a motor vehicle?” I sincerely doubt it. How will you address the family of an injured child should the unthinkable and preventable happen? Meridian may benefit greatly from the presence of Costco, for the shopping convenience and the jobs created. Do any of these benefits diminish if Costco is located on Chinden and Highway 16 or at the Ten Mile Creek area? Why did Costco get to have exactly what they wanted but the concerns of residents most impacted were dismissed? I can not fathom how you are okay with your decision, when you had very good, viable alternatives, that did not impact residents of this great city. Is there recourse to have this decision revisited? Sincerely, Lynn Curvey Sent from my iPad
