We have received a few emails about the proposed development you are referring to. My office has talked with
our Planning Supervisor, Bill Parsons, and he has indicated that there has not been an application submitted for
that property at this time but they have had a pre-application discussion about rezoning the property.
I’ve copied Mr. Parsons on this email so you can have his contact information. He can help answer any
questions or address any concerns you might have about this possible development. We appreciate all public
comments and thank you for taking time to email us. They will be included in the public record if, or when, an
application is received.
I appreciate your comments about the old town improvements. Please let my office know if we can do anything
else for you.

Dear Mayor Tammy and City Council Members,
I am writing to you about the proposed development in the 10 acre space East of 7th
Street and South of Cherry Lane. I am concerned about added traffic on 7th street. I
am also hoping you will consider the flavor of this neighborhood.
Your "Old Town" Meridian program has been great for the downtown area. We all
love the quaint street lights and banners promoting our town. Please, please take time
to drive thru our neighborhood. While many of our homes would seem to be just
"old" to the new set, we love our homes. We have relationships here with our
neighbors. We are friendly, looking out for one another. We say "hello" and keep
and eye on our precious children who walk to and from school.
Please do not allow a greedy developer to "gut" our area by squeezing as many houses
as possible into this area. Our lots in here are larger than the lots in newer
neighborhoods. Many of us have yard wells or irrigation. We have lawns and mature
trees. Please do not sell us out just to gain favor with a developer and more money
for your tax base. Is fewer homes really going to stop a developer here? I hope not.
