Subject Costco Store at Ten Mile and Chiden - opposed note to Costco included
Message At first we supported your store at Ten Mile and Chiden Rd. in Meridian. Recalling
the traffic accidents on Ten Mile south of Ustick brought thoughts of traffic patterns.
Your proposal to go upgrade Ten Mile needed to go all the way to Ustick to be
effective. Then there are senior communities at Teter that would need signals to get
across Ten Mile to head north.
Looking at what should be part of your business plan, I think a different location
would be better. If you are trying to service the customers in northern Meridian along

with folks from Star, western Eagle, Nampa and even Emmet, the Ten Mile location
is not the right place.
You have the Boise River as a block to good access. The folks from Eagle would have
to use the Linder Ave. bridge to access Chiden. It is inadequate to handle the traffic.
As far as I know, Ten Mile will not cross over the river in the near future. The folks
from Star, Nampa and even Emmett would use the State Highway 16 to cross the
river. This crossing has been upgraded and will handle the traffic.
I propose the location of the new store should be Chiden at St. Hwy 16.
