Subject: Summertown Subdivision - Ustick/Venable
Greetings City Council Members,
I am reaching out to you in regards to the change of plans for the Summertown
Subdivision. Originally, based on what previously approved, the subdivision was going consist of a
55+ focused area along with multi family two story apartment units and a 5 building commercial front
on Ustick. The primary access would be Venable lane (which is presently a dirt road blocked on the
West Side until connected). I've recently heard from people in the neighborhood that there is a
request to scrap the original plan and go with 200 plus four story apartments. That level of density
will be problematic for the local roads (esp ecially with Venable being the primary North/South road for
the complex) along with adding to the overcrowding of local schools. I do realize growth is inevitable
but it does need to be reigned back in to an extent. I would like to request you try to sta y closer to the
original plans (those who bought in the area were aware of the original plans and have no problems
with them). If you proceed with the four story complex please consider an access road on the East
side of the complex to stem traffic. The local neighborhood will be overwhelmed with traffic it you
don't provide another means of exit/entry.
Best Regards,
Dan Adams
