Subject:Ten Mile/Chinden Costco
Dear Sir/Madam,
As a Meridian resident and home owner In Irvine Meadows subdivision, I wish to offer my concerns and
opposition to the proposed Costco and other commercial development slated for the Ten Mile / Chinden area.
This plan is in conflict of previous Comprehensive Plans and Zoning. The building of anything other than the
zoned R-15 zoning should not be allowed. I recently purchased and occupied my home based on the current and
existing uses. My Realtor, Developer/Builder did not convey to me that this type of development by Costco,
Brighton and GFI was being planned. If I had known about this I would not have purchased my property here.
This proposed development if allowed will seriously degrade the quality of life to the immediate area with
noise, artificial light, traffic and parking etc.The increased density of housing and parking will further add to an
already existing high level of traffic. The two lane road and state highway are not designed or handle additional
loading as will occur. Additional traffic combined with the gas station will further degrade the air quality to the
area, compounding breathing problems for some folks.
This is just a bad plan.
Please forward this letter of concern to all those on the Planning and Zoning, City Council and Mayor Desks
Thank You,
Rick and Robin Burke
