Council Members,
My husband and I moved into a home in Cedar Springs North this summer, from an unincorporated part of
Meridian. I was excited when I saw that Dairy Queen and a gas station was being built on the corner of
Meridian Road and McMillan. Then the construction on the 3 story apartment complex started. I have major
concerns that getting out of our neighbor hood on McMillan Road is going to be difficult once the apartments
are completed and rented. It will be a traffic nightmare.
Now, that the construction on Ustick has been completed, I find out that a builder wants to build more
apartments at Ustick and Venable. If this is approved, it will make getting out of the neighborhood very
difficult. It will also increase the traffic going through the subdivision for the folks that live in the apartments
looking to exit on McMillan.
Summit and Venable are the only outlets to McMillan and Ustick. An apartment complex will bring more
traffic thru the subdivision. The schools in this area are already overcrowded. Please consider these issues
before you approve plans for the builder. I feel that the space would be better suited for a restaurant and
other shops.
