Dear City Council:
I am writing this because I am a resident who is VERY concerned about Costco Warehouse being built in the residential
area of Chinden and 10 Mile. There are so many reasons for my concern-the top being:
HORRIBLE traffic both on Chinden and the immediate neighborhoods.
Environmental concerns with the fuel stations.
Safety for the families who bought homes in safe, quiet neighborhoods—now have concerns of the statistically
increased crime near box-type stores and apartments.
Taxpayers paying for road renovations.
Possible decrease in home values.
Commercially zoned was NOT the original plan for this property!
Please consider stopping this plan immediately, and allowing Costco into Meridian where there is not an immediate
residential area. There are a few places left.
And while I’m at it, PLEASE watch the growth! Please. This is an amazing community. Let’s keep it safe and
controllable.
Thank you for reading and considering,
Lorraine Howe
