Subject:Costo on Chinden & Ten Mile Road
I am writing to inform you that we are not at all pleased with the possibility of Costco
being built at Chinden & Ten Mile Road. We put a lot of time, effort, and money into
searching for a place to live. We thought we had found it. We bought our home in this
Bainbridge neighborhood just 7 months ago, not knowing of any proposed major
commercial venture planned for the area. We were told that it would all be residential. If
we had known of Costco's plans, we would not have bought here. We would have chosen
a different location, away from commercial ventures and heavy traffic.
The fact that Costco proposed to build new roadways is nothing more than a hook with
bait for city officials. Costco knows that tax payers will be the ultimate road builders.
Many of the families that live in close proximity to this site, have small children. The
safety of these children is now in question. The traffic will be horrendous on the major
roads. This will bring about drivers looking for short cuts through our neighborhood
streets.
We implore you to reject this project. Costco has the resources to build in a more
suitable location, an area that is less congested. That way, Costco would not bring
mayhem to the lives of all the men, women, and children, that have chosen Bainbridge
as a safe haven. Noise and turmoil are in our future, if you choose to go forward with
this project. How "Un-Costco-Like" is that?
