Subject:Costco
Esteemed council members,
I am writing to you to add another point regarding my opposition to the proposed Costco at the corner of Ten Mile
and Chinden Roads. It was stated at the P & Z meeting by the presenters that the growth in Meridian is south of
Chinden, and therefore this is an ideal location, from the perspective of Costco, to build another Costco. Brighton
acknowledged that they own both the parcels at this location and at Chinden and Highway 16. They appear to also own
or at least are marketing the property at the Ten Mile Crossing commercial district. This location appears to be zoned
for commercial real estate; is 4.5 miles from the Chinden and Ten Mile location; has easy access from Rte 84 and is
definitely south of Chinden, where they state the growth is anticipated. With other options available, it seems
dismissive of the vision for safe communities to place a warehouse style store in the middle of a residential community.
Please consider these alternative locations when making your decision.
Warm Regards,
Lynn Curvey (208)-869-1320
