Kent and Maryellen Wheeler 03-06Meridian City Hall. March 6, 2018 City Council and Mayor De Weerd 33 E. Broadway Ave. Meridian, ID 83642 Ref: OPPOSED to DEVELOPMENT Harper Ridge Subdivision 3885 E. Cooper Point Dr. Meridian, ID 83642 City Council and Mayor De Weerd: This meeting to evaluate the proposal of 124 apartments on the Harper Ridge Subdivision sadly comes when my husband is recoding from a stroke that took place while we were on Christmas Holiday. Therefore we are taking this opportunity to repeat our concerns: 124 apartments on 10.68 acreas =. 350 to 400 people impacting the area. Schools : already over capacity Pepper Ridge, Siena Elementary,Lewis and Clark Middle,Mountain View High School. The roads that already see over crowding and many accidents: Eagle Overland Cloverdale These roads will all be impacted buy the proposed Harper Ridge Sub Division plus the NEW DEVELOPMENT homes that are currently under construction in this exact area. All the cars in the business complex must also exit onto the above roads: ie CiTi, T-Mobile, banks, Profession buildings, motels, coffee shops, mortgage companies, plus many others and new under construction. The current Muir Woods residents will have cars come through via S. Knapp Rd. Planning must result in less impact with a current overview of how this will be a future problem to the current residents and what future construction will have to take place to accommodate the volume of people using the road system, the school system and the other facilities necessary to keep the congestion, accidents under control and provide for the desirable community we all love. Growth is good but it must be PLANNED for NOW and the FUTURE. Allowing building to make too large an impact before a community is ready is a poor reflection on the board. We know things will change but drive through that whole area and realize the impact all this construction will make on the Soft Industrial Park and the community. Building is not bad but perhaps a solution would be less apartments in order to have less population impact in the area that already is seeing massive influx of people, cars and need for city facilities and State Roads. ‘’ Moderation!” The key to successful growth. Please consider decreasing the amount of apartments to lessen the impact to the community. Sincerely, KENT and Maryellen Wheeler 3562 East Quin Drive, Meridian, ID. 83642
