Subject Costco Development
Message I was very disappointed in the outcome of the planning and zoning meeting last
night. There was overwhelming response against the Costco development at
Chinden/Ten Mile. It was almost like the commissioners didn't hear a word of it
because Costco said they would pay for road improvements. It is seemingly about the
money and nothing else. The extra traffic in the area will use Lost Rapids and Tree
Farm to get in and out of the Costco complex. Take a look at the existing traffic
around the Boise Costco and the Nampa Costco. Would you want that in your
neighborhood? On your residential street? The city of Meridian just installed Keith
Bird Park on Lost Rapids. By approving this plan, the quality of this park and area
just went down the toilet because o f traffic and traffic alone. Please send a message
to these developers that Meridian is not for sale and that they need to comply with
what the city wants and what it's citizens want and not the other way around. These
developers are dictating things. Please stop this. Thank you for your time.
