Subject Costco proposed building location at Ten Mile and Chinden
Message I am for Costco building a new store at the location of Chinden and Ten Mile. Since
the City of Meridian has already welcomed suburban sprawl with houses so close to
each other and new apartments, I don't see where a new store is going to add to a
traffic problem or a problem to any of Meridian's infrastructure. A new store does not
add to the amount of vehicles to a city, as new homes and apartments do, just the
amount of traffic flow at various hours of the day in that area.
As we all know, the possible increase of revenue to the city and county dictates most
decisions. The developers are having a hay day building on every square inch of
ground that comes available without
an opposition from the city. Not against growth, but some common sense growth
would be welcome.
Looks like southern California in Meridian. No character in the
developments. Sad. So at this stage of the game whether Costco can build or not
build. They have my vote. Take away some traffic going through Meridian to the
Costco in Nampa or Boise.
