Subject Costco Development at Chinden and 10 Mile
Message Dear Mayor and City Council of Meridian,
I'm contacting you to share my support for Costco to be able to develop the requested
location at the cross roads for Chinden and 10 Mile. As the Treasure Valley continues
to grow, especially the areas of Star, Middleton and Meridian, I see the future bene fits
of a Costco in this location. I understand the there will be a need to expand the
surrounding roads to accommodate the heavier loads of traffic and the construction of
the Costco and road expansion will add to the current congestion, but this will onl y be
temporary. The roads are already in need of expansion and there is a lack of local
shopping in this Northwest edge of Meridian. This Costco will help provide more jobs
in our area and help provide more revue for our city.
We all love our small town, but it has grown and will continue to grow. As our Mayor
and Council, we rely on you to foresee our city's needs for expansion of our roads and
local shopping by being proactive instead of reactive. I understand that not everyone
looks forward the add congestion during the construction, but I'm sure once it's all
done, the Meridian, Star and Middleton Costco members will appreciate not having to
drive to the neighboring cities to shop or get cheap gas and I'm sure all the none
Costco residents will appreciate the less congested road and other shopping and
restaurants that will begin popping up with our cities growth.
These are my families feelings and I request your help in voicing our opinion on our
behalf. Please feel free to contact me if needed.
