In that period of time we have noticed a change in the members. When we first began working there the members were kind, friendly, patient and tolerant. Now, they are rude, impatient, and very intolerant of those around them. There are just too many rats in the maze. They complain about the parking, the long check out lines, the crowded aisles, etc. They all comment that they wish there was a store in Meridian. We get members from Emmett, Garden Valley, Horseshoe Bend and even Hidden Springs. They all would like a store closer to where they live. The complaints to this Costco come from people who object to the increased traffic. All the new residential building will bring in more traffic than a Costco. Residential traffic is anytime of the day and night. Costco traffic would be limited hours. These same people are probably members who are already on the same streets driving to Costco. A plus for the new location would be for employees who now travel great distances to get to work at either the Boise or Nampa store. They would spend less time on the streets getting to and from work. They would have more quality time at home with their families. Costco in Meridian would be a great continuous revenue source for Meridian. Probably much more than all the residential building – that bring more crime, litter and cost to the area. If the Costco complainers don’t like progress in our town, maybe they should move somewhere else! Sorry we couldn’t make it to the meeting. We had to work. Sent from Mail for Windows 10
