I have lived in Vienna Woods subdivision for 14 years now and experienced the growth to the west first hand. The benefit of this growth is that we now have a critical mass in Meridian to support retail development such as Costco. I am excited to think I won't have to drive 12 miles to Nampa or to Boise to shop at Costco. The developers have provided a great plan with adequate buffering to the neighbors. The traffic concerns are a bigger picture issue related to ITD's lack of funds. The fact that Costco will contribute to an accelerated schedule for portions of the improvements to Chinden should be taken full advantage of. My only concern is whether they have provided enough parking. I think all of the naysayers will be there shopping as well, so they will need spaces for them as well.
