Hello,
My name is Jane Curtis, I live at 2275 N. Eureka Place, Meridian. I am in favor of allowing Costco to come to
our community. Continuing to keep Meridian the wonderful up and coming community that it is depends on
the City Government responding to the needs of the entire city and not just a few who fear their little corn er of it
will be disrupted.
I moved here from Coeur d'Alene 2-1/2 years ago. The City of Coeur d'Alene went through a very similar
expansion and they allowed a Costco to be put, literally, in the middle of that beautiful town. So much hand
ringing, so much controversy. It was less than 1/4 mile from my home and I can attest to the fact that Costco
was a very concerned neighbor and a very good corporate citizen. Now they are loved and nobody even
remembers the drama.
We need continued retail improvements for our City. I encourage you to listen to the whole of Meridian and
not just the few that are what we referred to as "Nimby's" in Coeur d'Alene. (NIMBY stands for Not In My
Back Yard). In favor as long as it doesn't affect them.
