I am in favor of Costco's proposal and hope that the City Council will agree that the benefit of a Costco in this location far outweighs any of the concerns proposed in opposition to this project. My reasoning for favoring the building of Costco in this area include the following: • Costco is a favorable retailer when compared to many other large shopping centers such as Walmart or Winco. Their business model provides for minimal impact to nearby residents, which is supported by their hours of operation, closures on major holidays, and type of shoppers including the economic status of those shoppers. • Costco's hours of operation limit impact during high traffic periods such as rush hour • Costco is closed on all major holidays • Costco is a high grade employer supporting its workers with high pay, stock benefits, and excellent health insurance • Costco has agreed, to the benefit of all who reside in the area of impact, to widen major roadways in the area, which will in turn, will reduce any traffic impact they may create inadvertently. Without the help of a business, such as Costco, it may take ITD years to complete any improvements and they will be severely limited in doing so due to revenue needed to complete those projects. • Costco will allow Meridian to continue having strong economic growth and development in a wise manner. I believe that the City Council should allow Costco to proceed with the building process and approve it's request to develop in this area. Please take my comments in to consideration when making your decisions. Regards, Wendy Luderman
