Subject Proposed Costco development Chinden and Ten Mile
Message I support approval of this proposed development. Mainly, Meridian needs to keep up
with commercial growth to meet the demands of it's residential growth. Having to
travel to Boise or Nampa Costco's puts those dollars in other cities pockets and puts
more cars on the roads which creates it's own issues. Yes, this would mean
pressuring ACHD to make the much needed improvements it's behind on for both
Chinden and Meridian, however the tax dollars raised through residential (and
commercial) growth should be put back into these improvements in the percentages
received, instead of a higher percentage of money always going to Boise road
improvements.
