Here's what they had to say: 2 Request for Mayor and Council Name Steve Rutherford _replyto rutherfordsteve@rocketmail.com Street Address 1539 E Commander St City Meridian State ID Zip Code 83646 Subject Costco Message Mayor and City Council, I am writing to support the application for development of the Southwest corner of Chinden and Ten Mile. I understand that neighbors of the proposed Costco are against this scale of development in this location. Quite frankly, they are completely off base. This is a major traffic corridor and is made for a development like this. Chinden is, and will remain, a major traffic corridor forever in this valley. Intense commercial uses like Costco represents are supposed to be placed on the se types of roadways. While appropriate buffering for neighboring housing uses is appropriate, this is by no means an incompatible use. My wife and I are beginning to think about the purchase or building of our next home. We have a goal to live within walk ing distance of services like Costco and the surrounding pads will provide. This development will be nothing short of an amenity for Meridian residents, whether they live near or miles away. Please continue to make thoughtful and progressive land use decisions.
