Message I do NOT want the Costco to be in my neighborhood. I understand the roads
surrounding will be improved and that would help relieve some traffic problems that
will absolutely arise. I can't believe an increase of about 100% in wider roads will
alleviate the projected 300% increase in traffic. I live in the Bainbridge neighborhood
and traffic from Costco will spill into my neighborhood along Tree Farm Way and
Lost Rapids Dr. I believe traffic coming from the west and returning to the west will
cut through our neighborhood to avoid the traffic congestion that will occur at the
intersection of Ten Mile and Chinden. The Keith Bird park was just installed on this
road and is a wonderful place for families to be and enjoy. With the increased traffic
on this road, the park will become a somewhat unsafe place for children to play. The
plot of land in question, was originally zoned for a much smaller commercial area. I
feel this would be a more appropriate use for this location as there are many family
neighborhoods surrounding this corner. I know the majority of the surrounding
community would rather see this land used for a smaller commercial development, as
was initially zoned. I know my family and I would appreciate the city committing to
this original plan. Thank you for your consideration.
