Subject Proposed Costco - 10 mile and Chinden
Message I would like to send this message in support of the proposed Costco on 10 Mile and
Chinden. I would also voice support for the Winco proposed for Chinden and
Linder. I was originally against the addition of the Walmart on 10 mile and McMillan
as I felt that traffic would become problematic. However I do not feel this has come
to pass. I also believe that the traffic concerns for the Costco and Winco sites are
overblown, and would be more than alleviated by the proposed improvements to
Chinden. The improvements to Chinden would be extremely beneficial to a large
amount of the public in the area. As we all know, this area is extremely bottlenecked,
with no relief from ITD in sight. In addition, I feel that both Costco and Winco have
shown a willingness to change plans to accommodate some of the concerns from
neighbors in the area. At this time, I feel that most of the voices against these project
would honestly be against "any" development in the area - and are showing no
attempt to compromise, only to delay. In conclusion, I strongly support the proposed
zoning changes to allow for construction of Costco and Winco along Chinden, and
hope you will consider the many benefits to the majority of the population, rather than
listening only to the vocal few. Thank you,
