Subject Costco Application
Message My husband sent in his support for approval of Costco's application. I also wish for
you to approve Costco's application. I sent this earlier but I do not think it was sent
due to internet issues. My reasons are the same as my husband's:
I want to urge you to approve the Costco application at Ten Mile and Chinden. Some
of my reasons for support of Costco are as follows: 1) Costco has proposed to fund or
help fund widening of Chinden from Linder to Hwy 16. I have served on the mayors
20/26 task force and this is a HUGE benefit to this area and will benefit even those
opposing Costco. They will also widen a portion of Ten Mile Road. 2) My years of
experience in hearing those opposing projects similar to this is that once approved
people find that retailers such as Costco turn out to be very good neighbors and many
of the loud minority will be good supporters of Costco once built. 3) Many good
paying jobs will be brought to Meridian by Costco adding to Meridian's economy.
This is GOOD growth! 4) Many who will shop at this Meridian Costco will save
driving time to the Boise or Nampa Costco's. This will lower traffic to and from those
locations with less emissions being put into the atmosphere. I have been at numerous
meetings at Meridian City Hall where our good mayor has been asked when Costco
was coming. Now they have made a wonderful plan and a few (a small minority) hard
screaming in opposition. Please do what is right for this area and approve this
application. I would have liked to come and make this plea in person but have another
