Message Dear Mayor and City Council Members,
As citizens of Meridian, we would like to show our support for the building of the
proposed Costco Wholesale building at the intersection of 10 Mile Road and Chinden
Blvd. Bringing in this business would add to the economy of our city. Rather than
spending our money in Boise or Nampa, we could keep more of our dollars in our
local neighborhoods. Please recognize our support and approve the construction of
this proposed shopping center.
Concerning development of our city, we would also like to make our opinions known
regarding further development in the form of apartment buildings. Unlike the support
we pledge for Costco, we oppose the further development and construction of
apartments in Meridian. Understanding the need for such housing, there seems to be
an excessive number of apartments being built locally, and we would like to see these
types of developments slowed, or better yet, ceased. Being parents of children in our
already overcrowded schools, we would like to see the dramatic increase of students
reduced.
