Subject Costco Project - Chinden and Ten Mile Road
Message I will be unable to attend the Meridian Planning & Zoning Commission meeting on
March 1, so want to cast my "vote" - so to speak - in favor of Costco being allowed to
build on the southwest corner of Chinden Boulevard and Ten Mile Road. I am a
Costco member and have been since they opened in Boise on Franklin (now where
Cabela's is located). I shop at both the Boise and Nampa locations, depending on
where I happen to be. As a Meridian resident, I believe it would be to both Meridian's
and its residents benefit to have a Costco in this area. Fred Meyer (1400 W Chinden)
and Walmart (5001 N Ten Mile Rd) were allowed to build in this general vicinity. I
firmly believe that Costco would be an equally good neighbor. As well as
improvements planned on the project site, Costco proposes widening and improving
Chinden from Linder Road to Highway 16 and widening and improving Ten Mile
Road from Chinden to Milano Road. Costco participated in two neighborhood
outreach meetings, providing an overview of the project and answering
questions. Costco has provided more than enough information to be allowed to go
forward with this project. Once again, not only is this good for Meridian residents but
also for the city. We are growing, and the addition of a Costco location in Meridian
will be positive for all concerned. Please allow Costco to build at the southwest
corner of Chinden Boulevard and The Mile Road. Thank you for your consideration.
