Here's what they had to say: 2 Request for Mayor and Council Name ERNEST L PAULINE _replyto erniepauline@q.com Street Address 3130 N Elisha Avenue City Meridian State ID Zip Code 83646 Subject Support for the Costco development at Chinden Boulevard and Ten Mile Road Message I live in Jaden Village near the intersection of BlackCat and Ustick at 3130 N Elisha Avenue, Meridian. I am very supportive of the development of the CostCo at the proposed site of Chinden and Ten Mile Road. The proposed widening of Chinden and Ten Mile roads will do much to relieve the traffic congestion on both of those roads soon rather than later. It will be a quality addition to this part of our community as it will serve the needs of many of those within a 5 mile radius that appreciate the quality of Costco products and services that we now have to travel to Boise or Nampa to purchase. Costco has shown to be a good neighbor and a good fit to many types of developments wherever they locate. In other states and cities Costco is welcomed with open arms because of the benefits their warehouse store, pharmacy, hearing aid sales, and optometrist bring to the residents that surround their store. I have seen their stores adjacent to housing developments, in large retail developments and near downtown areas. Costco brings jobs, tax revenues, and competition to the markets where they locate. I hope the Meridian Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council will provide the leadership in partnering with Costco and approve their application so having a Costco in our City can become another reason why the City of Meridian is one of the top cities that people want to live in. Please accept this statement and make it a part of the record as I am unable to attend the meeting scheduled for Thursday, March 1 at 6 p.m..
