Here's what they had to say: 2 Request for Mayor and Council Name Darcy Smith _replyto darcys777@yahoo.com Street Address 2684 E Tybalt Dr City Meridian State ID Zip Code 83642 Subject Support for Costco Message While I live in south Meridian and probably will not frequent the area where the proposed Costco will be built, I support expanding the services that are available to the people of Meridian. I've read some of the complaints of the people who do live in the area, and find it interesting that they seem more concerned about the increase in traffic rather than the hundreds of homes that are proposed for construction in the area. To me, that seems to be the biggest issue facing Meridian at this time--too many homes and the lack of infrastructure to handle the population (i.e. schools, roads, freeways, access to shopping, etc). All of those new homes will be creating far more traffic than a shopping center. Living in south Meridian I see this on a daily basis-- traffic gets worse and more homes just add to the congestion. A new Costco will support the population growth in that area, and off-set the current "busyness" at the existing locations. The expansion of the roads in that area is extremely positive. I'd love to see that happening in more places around Meridian. Progress is good, growth is good. This form was submitted at 06:33 PM UTC - 27 February 2018.
