Subject Costco - Please approve
Message To whom it may concern,
It is my understanding that Costco is being considered for Approval on March 1st. I
am unable to attend the meeting; however, i want to express my opinion regarding
this development.
I strongly support Costco coming to the location on Chinden and Ten Mile. I think it
will be big asset to the community and greatly anticipate its opening. I am a weekly
shopper at Costco and I am tired of the 20 minute commute to get to Costco in
Nampa. (i avoid the Boise location because of too much traffic).
I believe Costco to be a great business for any community and feel this will not create
any additional traffic. The area is already heavily traffic because so many people have
to drive to multiple locations to get what they need. With Costco there, many people
will be able to get their shopping done with one trip instead of many. It will also
provide many new jobs for the area and increase our tax revenues.
Please don't be swayed by those community members who don't want it because of
traffic concerns. With growth there is always traffic and if we don't allow Costco to
go there something else will.
Now, i am not too pleased with the plan to build a multi -family development and
simply ask the city to slow down it's growth of multi-family developments as well as
single family residences. The streets need to be widen all around in order to handle
that and Multi-family developments bring different qualities of life to our community.
Our roads and our schools can't handle this rapid pace of growth and believe the city
needs to stop and slow down this residential growth.
Thank you
