Subject Costco at Chinden and 10 Mile
Message I am hopeful that the Planning & Zoning Commission will approve the Proposed
Costco and Commercial District at 10 Mile and Chinden. Conveniences of this nature
are missing from this area of Meridian. The mixed use design will buffer it well to
previously proposed or existing residential properties. The proposed widening of the
intersection makes perfect sense as this is a dangerous intersection that I drive
frequently. I would hope that you would have the developer/Costco pay for the
majority of this widening, as would be typical on a development of this
nature. Existing homeowners in the immediate area should not be surprised or upset
about this proposal... this is a major intersection where anybody in America would
envision a commercial convenience being developed.
