Subject Proposed COSTCO project
Message While I would love to have a COSTCO located so close by, the road infrastructure
simply cannot handle it. Even with their proposal to widen Chinden from Linder to
Highway 16, and improving Ten Mile road, this will do very little help in alleviating
the enormous amount of traffic that COSTCO will add to the already existing bumper
to bumper traffic on Chinden. I fear Meridian is allowing too many developments and
subdivisions without having the necessary traffic infrastructure in place. I think the
Meridian City should work with ACHD, and ITD on creating and actually building
that infrastructure BEFORE additional developments are allowed. Otherwise,
Meridian will be know for their amazingly complete gridlock system.
