Message I am in favor of the proposed Costco location (N Ten Mile in Meridian, Id) based on
the following:
- It will reduce the traffic density in the (major) arterials currently existing in and
around Meridian at this time.
- It's in the path of logical growth
- Meridian will benefit from the tax base but patrons will be coming from Gem and
Canyon Counties along with a majority of Eagle and Meridian Residents (path of
least travel resistance)
- If the Costco Wholesale Corporation is willing to "shoulder" the majority of road
modifications to accommodate the anticipated increased traffic we will see another
tax saving for our City and County. This, by the way, will have to happen eventually
with budgetary moneys from ACHD and/or ITD?
- Lastly, the gate has already been opened due to the large business centers at the
general intersections of N. Ten Mile / McMillen, Chinden Blvd / Linder and the platt
map of the "huge" proposed "future commercial subdivisions" and proposed Costco
location on the Southwest corner of N. Ten Mile / Chinden Blvd.
