Carol and Joe Davis 02-231 Christopher Johnson From:Carol <carolhdavis@earthlink.net> Sent:Friday, February 23, 2018 10:27 AM To:City Clerk Cc:Carol Davis; Joe Davis Subject:Costco on Chinden I wanted to voice my concerns about building Costco on Ten Mile and Chinden. Of greatest concern is traffic. This intersection in a T and not even a thorough fare to State. In addition Chinden in 2 lanes and very congested now during many time frames of the day. Another concern is the access to the store which infringes on adjacent communities. I live in Paramount and have a great deal of empathy for the homeowners in SpurWing which include some of the most expensive homes in Meridian. I don’t think they ever visualized a Costco across from their subdivision. Lastly.. it’s very difficult now to exit the Fred Meyer Parking lot.. if you live in Meridian just across the street. Turning left onto Linder is very tough and a left onto Chinden is equally difficult. Making a right turn onto Chinden is a little easier but still a challenge. I realize Brighton is quite influential in Meridian but the Costco location is much better suited to Ten Mile and 84 near their new headquarters. They must own land over there also? I am hoping the ACHD & ITD Traffic Studies are available now to support the concern many residents have over this location. Also, that the study includes commute traffic on Chinden late afternoon & evening from residents working in Boise. It’s bumper to bumper now without Costco. Thank you for submitting our concerns.
